New GEMS Mode!
As the GEMS system of working has grown over the past few years, people have been asking me for a GEMS Mode – a way of defining that we are working with GEMS as a modality.
Modes are interesting. Some seem to be absolute, as in there is a very specific frequency that is related to the stress or systems in question and the mode or mudra perfectly matches it. Others are a little more arbitrary – a mode can mean something simply because we have decided that it means something and begun to create and strengthen a morphic field around it. As more and more people use it and think of it in this way, the morphic field strengthens until the frequency really does match and it becomes truth.
When I went looking for a GEMS Mode, it didn’t feel to me like something absolute, so instead I thought about what the essence of GEMS is and how it works. And in doing this, my daughter Hannah made a suggestion:
All four fingertips of each hand to the thumb and then the two points come together.
This gesture means ‘more’ in American Sign Language, which feels appropriate given the questioning nature of GEMS as a modality.
The mode is the same as the Sumukha Mudra of yogic tradition, which is meant to balance the right and left sides of the body, harmonize all 5-elements, activate the seven major chakras and the three doshas, and move energy through all the meridians and their associated organs. It activates the body’s self-healing abilities, increasing concentration, focus, power and spiritual resolve.
I offer this to practitioners as something to play with and try on. See how it works for you and we would love to hear your feedback!
We’re all in this together,
Alexis
