This Embodied Energy Costa Rica Retreat is a collaboration between two internationally sought-after instructors, Evelyn Magyari Lopez and Alexis Costello. Experts in our respective fields of Zouk dance and Energetic Kinesiology, we realized that our specialties are complementary; different ways of achieving body alignment, of understanding the self, and of expressing your unique energy.
This retreat features:
– 10 hours of Zouk dance training with Evelyn Magyari Lopez with an emphasis on solo and following work (no partner needed and beginners welcome!)

With a warm and approachable teaching style, Evelyn guides you through dynamic routines and techniques that blend creativity, skill-building, and self-expression. These exercises are tailored to your level, to explore how movements can tell your story.
– 10 hours of Energetic Kinesiology training with Alexis Costello, learning:
- Basic muscle testing, both with a partner and 3 ways of muscle testing yourself
- How to use your new muscle testing skills to test what foods/supplements (or anything else) are right for you
- Balancing emotional stress
- Connecting to your meridian system and techniques to improve flow and quality of chi
- A series of daily exercises for better balance and clarity, physically, mentally and energetically (good for everyone, but calibrated especially for dancers!

Evelyn Magyari Lopez
Evelyn is one of the most sought-after Brazilian Zouk artists and dance instructors in the world.
She is born in Transylvania (Romania), grew up in the Netherlands and currently living in a beautiful town called Valley Springs in California USA.
Evelyn’s dance is a captivating blend of artistry, precision, and soulful expression. Her movements flow effortlessly, embodying grace and power in equal measure. With a unique ability to weave emotion into every step, Evelyn transforms dance into a storytelling experience that resonates deeply with her audience.
As a dancer, Evelyn brings not only skill but also passion, authenticity, and a deep connection to the music and her audience. Her dance is more than a performance, it’s an invitation to feel, connect, and be inspired.
According to Evelyn, dancing Zouk is, “Surrendering in the moment with a balanced mental and physical state, combining creativity through inner-beauty, while existing in harmony with the music”.
Her talents inspire dancers around the world to express their dance from their souls coming from an unconditional love for the ‘self’ and for others.
Alexis Costello
Muscle testing is a vehicle for making the world a better place and taking ownership of your wellness on every level!
Born in BC, Canada, Alexis has been living in Costa Rica since 2016 and traveling the world to speak and teach about energywork and muscle testing.
Founder of GEMS Kinesiology College and Creator of the GEMS courses, Alexis is a barefoot gardening, zouk dancing, book reading, mother of dragons. She has been working in the holistic health field for over 20 years, spending much of that time teaching various modalities of specialized kinesiology / muscle response testing and serving on the Boards of various National and International Associations (CanASK, IASK), currently IKC (International Kinesiology College) Faculty for Costa Rica.
